Story
Dear friends and colleagues,
We are shocked by the massive fire that gutted the Little Saigon Market in the morning of December 13.
In particular, we are deeply saddened by the lost of thousands of donated items meant to be delivered to at risk kids in Melbournes West on Christmas Day and before school start next year.
As the community development students, alumni and staff members at VU, we are calling for your support to help Les Twentyman Foundation to quickly get back on their feet and rebuild their youth services. You can help in many ways, as an individual, a group or class, or a whole organisation.
However, in this campaign, we basically ask you to trade (or match) one of your Christmas present from your shopping list, and donate the exact amount to the Foundation through our fundraising campaign. The total amount will be transferred to Les Twentyman Foundation by January 31, 2017.
Sincerely,
Dr Siew Fang Law and Celia Tran
(on behalf of VU Community Development students, alumni and staff)

Les Twentyman Foundation
Working across Greater Melbourne, our dedicated team supports hundreds of kids aged between five and 25, who face multiple stresses holding them back from living a life that every child deserves, including poverty, mental health, unemployment, racism, addiction, domestic violence and crime. Our work focuses on keeping children and young people engaged with their education, families and connected to the community, building hope and ensuring they do not end up homeless, living on the streets or engaged with the youth justice system.Founded by legendary youth worker Les Twentyman OAM, we have a history of more than 30 years supporting at-risk youth. We know that keeping kids connected and engaged with their education, is key to helping young people create a brighter future for themselves and their families.
