Story
A letter from Zoe ...
This Christmas, I’m sharing an update on the steps Flicker of Hope is taking to brighten the lives of those living with neurofibromatosis.
We’re excited to begin a new project headed by Professor Kate Drummond from Royal Melbourne Hospital, one of the world’s leading neurosurgeons and a devoted advocate for NF patients.
With Kate’s guidance, we will map Victoria into regions and connect patients with GPs and specialists who are willing, and prepared to, provide NF-specific care. These clinicians will receive detailed information and support from Professor Drummond’s team, ensuring patients can access knowledgeable, compassionate care, no matter where they live.
We have named this initiative a “Canopy of Care”, reflecting our hope to rebuild a sense of community and support - something we feel has faded, especially since the long months of COVID lockdowns.
To bring this project to life, we aim to raise $200,000. My family and my father’s company, Delta Group, have pledged to donate $100,000, and we invite community support to help us reach our goal.
Every donation will be represented as a leaf on our Victorian Tree displayed at Delta Group Head Office, growing into a canopy that symbolizes care, hope, and unity for the NF community. We’ll share progress on our socials as the tree comes to life!
With your support - whether big or small - we can make our Flicker of Hope shine brighter than ever and bring comfort, connection, and joy to many during this special season.

Flicker of Hope Foundation Limited
The Flicker of Hope Foundation was inspired by Zoe – who was diagnosed with NF at four months of age. Zoe loves to dream big … and she dreams of a bright future for all those affected by NF. In 2018 Zoe and her family established Flicker of Hope to raise much needed funds to support researchers in their quest to find positive treatments and improve the quality of life for those impacted by NF. Thanks to the generous support of individuals, businesses, community and school groups Flicker of Hope has raised over $3 million in six years. 100% of this amount has been donated to fund essential research into NF. Please join us on this journey – a journey that may be life changing for those impacted by NF.
